I want to know if he had to hop forward to get his wheel to about where
it is in the pic, or if he could roll it all the way up?
Lift and roll to that point.

I still have a buzz going from that ride.
As soon as "Cha" is built up, I'll be going there.

It's an invitation only thing. Impossible to find unless you're with
him.I couldn't follow it again, even though I've ridden it once.
Now I have this horrid vision of a pre-ride stripsearch for GPS
devices...
Did you ever get my email asking for some lamer poser pictures? I was
getting spamhoused from my email provider.

your vast bulk a little better.)

That was, like, days ago. I don't even know what I was talking about in
that snippet!
I can assure you that my pair -- the ones resting atop my pecs -- are
still in place.

Damn. I see that as a death trap.......for me at least. I'm afraid my
skills would more than likely fail me, in an attempt to make that
climb.Quoted message said:I still have a buzz going from that ride.
I would still have a coma going from that ride.
Well, after every one of these replies, I looked again at the photo. I
must have stared at the damned thing for ten minutes now, and I still
fail to see what was so intimidating about the move. Sure, it looks a
little tricky, but not outrageously so. A little steep, but not too bad.
My very limited experience with Utah sandstone leads me to believe that
as long as he didn't actually drop a tire off the side of the rock, he
wasn't going to slide out at all. I'm not saying that you can't slide
on the stuff, but it would take a lot of work.
In other words, it's a great photo, and looks like a plenty fun ride,
but well within the realm of what I've seen Pete ride in his videos, and
well within the realm of what I would ride if I were there.

Thank you for the considerate, well-reasoned reply. I agree
completely that most of my posts need no reply, because of my witty,
urbane writing style. It was very nice of you to recognize this, and
I thank you wholeheartedly.
Now, back to your regularly-scheduled OT claptrap...

For me its the prospect of a left foot dab with no place to put my foot,
and the subsequent fall. Saw some guy do it in a video once, looked
bad. ;-)

Yeah, I've heard that can be bad, all right. If there is a cliff there,
anyway. In this case it's merely a slam onto some big slabby rocks
that'll do the injury...

Bill, it seems to me that you rode the trail in this video:
http://www.chainringtattoo.com/video/Jem.mpg
which has SIGNIFICANTLY greater possibilty of serious penalty for
failure, didn't you? It certainly looked like you on that ride, and
sounded like you too.
