dual-cable brake levers

Those made for people with disabilities usually have dual levers. Not only
would it be incredibly difficult to set up, but you hardly ever want the
same braking force going through the front and rear.

BMX is the place to look. A pair of Odyssey modulevers (~$40) with the
dual cable barrel adjusters in each side could give you what you're
looking for. NB. Not for use with V-brakes.

Thanks for the info. I was familiar somewhat with the modulator levers but
I'm not sure how I would deal with the cables to both brakes without a
custom made cable? The dual-cable lever I have works perfectly for my needs
and uses the existing cables which couldn't be any more simple.

In which case, I'm kind of stuck. Theres the Primo Pervert, which might
work for your needs, but I know of no (stock) levers that will take dual
cables.

Just out of interest, why do you need dual cable levers?

Just out of interest, why do you need dual cable levers?

Its actually not even for a bike but a gas scooter, but you folks are real
experts. I have a freind witrh a disabilty that makes it difficutl for him
to make the appropriate grip on the right brake lever. I've already
converted the lever throttle over to a twist-grip for him which works much
better since it matches grip with limited mobility in his fingers.
The dual-cable lever I installed works very well for him but he has
invested a lot of money in this custom scooter as a his hobby. The
upside-down mounted dual-cable lever is just out of place with the quality
custom work on the rest of the machine.

Sorry, but that's the first time I've ever seen anything like that. I can
recommend ways of bodging something together, but I don't know of any
levers like that, I'm afraid.

Pyramid is J & B Importers house brand, and they only import the right
hand unit (currently).

Have you considered using a device like the World Class "Wish Bone"?
It is a cable splitting device. It is basically an inch and a quarter
long tube that has one cable going in from the lever, and two coming
out. Since it can be mounted in line it can be used with any "normal"
lever. They are often used on tandems that have dual rear, or other
unusual brake set-ups.

Odyssey also makes the Modulever, a nice looking dual pull lever.
Much, much nicer than the Pyramid lever. I believe they are made in
both left and right configs, but it has been a while since I have seen
them. You might try to contact someone at Odyssey and check the
availability.
