A little background: I'm moving from South Carolina to Virginia very soon (military). I went up to Virginia to do some house (and bike) hunting week, and found a shop near where I found a house, which happened to have a Fisher Sugar 4+ in my size in stock. I'll be moving back there permanently in about two weeks, so I snapped up the bike and brought it back to South Carolina to meet the trails that killed my old ride.
So, I'm gawking at the bike in my living room, going over stuff in the book, and notice that the rear shock seems to have been put on backwards. It's still a shock, and it still does it's job, but it's mounted tail first according to the pictures of the bike in the manual and on the Fisher website.
Should I care? Should I reverse it? The only possible issue I can see is that the seals are now facing the rear tire, and somewhat in the throw-of path for dirt and such.

Had the same problem with my VT. Didn't matter as far as the shock was concerned, however I did find the end of the seat post hit the blue rebound adjuster knob when the suspension was compressed and the seat was lowered from normal height. Solution? Reverse the shock. If it desperately bugs you, switch it around. Won't hurt it. -- Westie (Replace 'invalid' with 'yahoo' when replying.)

Yeah, you should worry about chainsuck, flexy stays, subpar materials, subpar fabrication, outdated geometry, outdated design, and catastrophic frame failure.

I'm up the road a piece in Richmond, VA. You may want to settle down in Hampton/Newport News peninsula (if you aren't living on base) to be closer to the riding.

BTW, I still want to hook up with you sometime this summer there in Richmond if you're up for it. I'm still not healed enough to do any real riding, but plan be riding as much as possible once I get the medical thumbs up.
