I was out enjoying last Friday's great weather (on Horsethief, among
others) when I eyed a snake. I can tell you I most likely didn't see
a rattlesnake (no rattle - I'm guessing a bull snake).
What are the snakes common to Fruita?

Bullsnakes and Pygmy Rattlers. The former hisses and the latter has a
buzz sounding rattle that can be very faint.

I have only seen the bull snakes. And only in Whitewater.

Fruit snakes. They have been seen riding mountain bikes in the area.

I spent the previous 8 seconds searching for all posts by you, and
found some in 1997 that state "I spent the previous 8 years fighting
auto dependence and road construction."
Let's see... 2004 - 1997 = 7. So a seven year error is not too bad, I
guess.
Or instead of just a stupid mistake, does that make you... a liar???

That's like kids being adults, only less, right Mike?
