All told, Sunday was an excellent riding day.
Congratulations, Kevan! Now all you gotta do is repeat that 22 times in 24 days and we'll start calling you Lance. ;-)

Isn't that an amazing perspective on Le Tour? Two weeks ago a friend and I rode 113 miles from Anderson, SC to the top of Caesar's Head (a legendary local climb ... 6.5 miles at an average of 7%) and back. We took in a smaller mountain going up and back. The back side of that smaller mountain on the return trip was incredible. It had a section of about 1/3 mile that was 16%. Hitting that at 75 miles with several thousand feet of climbing already in the legs was murder. Like Kevan said, all kinds of stuff that usually doesn't get sore was sore after that. And all I could keep thinking towards the end was, that would have been only a moderate tour stage.
Hey Kevan ... great job. You're gonna feel unbeatable on the bike over the next couple of days.

I know Ceasar's Head well! It's not the Sierras, of course, but grueling none the less! What's the name of the mountain with the 16% grade? I know there's a steep section on the "front" side of Mt. Sassafras, but that's more like 22% (according to DeLorme TopoUSA).
