buy myself a mountain bike. My question to this newsgroup is, whats a
moderate speed I should travel at to acheive weight loss.
And what distance should I ride, and how often ? In short can someone
give me a exercise guide.
Thanks heaps..."

"I ride around 4 times a week, usually around 3 rides of say 30 to 40
k's, at an average speed of 25k's to 30 k's an hour. I have been doing
this for over 8 months now Then once a week I will do a 100 k ride.
I consider myself pretty fit, but not a Lance Armstrong, and don't get
to tired too easy.
But yesterday on my 100 k ride, around half way, I was stuffed, my legs
felt sore, and I just seemed to run out of energy.
I drink lots of water as I go, and at the halfway mark, I have my power
bar energy chocolate, so what happened yesterday.
Is this a normal thing ? I don't feel sick or anything.
Does this happen often to you guys. ?
Thanks for any feedback"
Do we have two users on the usenet by the same name, or is it something
else? A guy doing around 200 km a week with an average of 25-30 kmh,
doesn't sound like the guy who wrote the first post. In particular the
two statements: "I have been told by my doctor to lose some weight" and
"I consider myself pretty fit" don't seem to imply the same person. Oh
well, just an observation.
