/Any/ bike will need some tuning from time to time -- cables
adjusted, chain checked and replaced if worn, brake pads
inspected, bolts tightened, etc. etc.

Take it to a shop if performance suffers, or buy a book on
bike maintenance.

Most important of all, of course: keep riding.

As others have pointed out, you'll have more luck looking
for Fisher.

Or Sugar. I just bought a Fisher Sugar. It's too soon to

starters?

I have no idea what you mean by saying that your riding
style sucks, but no matter how "perfectly" you ride your
bike, you're going to need to do some maintenance now and
then. You can't just drive a car for years without getting
some tune-ups, either.

It's not clear to me what you're looking for here. Are you
looking for validation of your Marlin purchase? Are you
thinking of getting a new bike? Are you griping because you
think that poor shifting after months of riding without
maintenance is a sign of poor design?

Didn't know that. Too bad I guess, consolidation brings down
quality every time. I used to love new balance shoes, then
they got bought by Nike 🙁.

wear&tear might be a bit lighter than the average guy.

I had a 2000 Fisher Sugar 2 and everything worked great.
Never had any problems except normal wear. I bought a 2004
Fisher Cake 2 dlx and so far so good.

I'm 6'2" 215lbs.

I had a 9 GF montare that finally developed a frame crack
after 6 years of riding. Took it to the GAF dealer and with
no questions asked received a new Big Sur frame as a
replacement. I have been riding the new frame hard since I
got it and it is holding up like a champ.
