  1. I'm 18 yrs old 5'11" going on 6'0..weigh 145 ...so I've had my bike for a few weeks and I'm loving it. I did 57.1 miles yesterday in 3:10:26, with an average speed of 18.6 mph , the wind was pretty insane to don't know exactly the speed... so my question is do you think that is a good start for somebody who has never started road cycling before?...and another thing I've read a lot in the forum and a lot of people have money I have to pay off my credit card with a 500 limit that I almost maxed out buying this bike, but I don't have money for a couple weeks and have been riding without a helmet and am not going to get one until I get paid in a couple weeks...do you think I should keep riding?...this is a new found hobbie of mine and I love every second of it.

  2. You seem to be doing quite well for someone who just started. As for riding without a helmet, that's up to you. It's obviously potentially dangerous, but is that a risk you want to take? I think that most people here ride a helmet, thinking it's better safe than sorry. See: Do you wear a helmet thread.
