    Apple Bread

    4 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon
    salt 2 teaspoons cinnamon 2 cups sugar 4 eggs -- beaten 1
    cup vegetable oil
    1/4 cup sour cream 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups
    chopped apples 1 cup chopped nuts

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift together flour, baking soda,
    cinnamon, and salt; set aside. Combine sugar, eggs, oil,
    sour cream, and vanilla, beating well. Blend into flour
    mixture. Fold in apples and nuts and pour into 2 greased and
    floured loaf pans. Bake 1 hour or until loaves test done.

    Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 337 Calories; 17g Fat
    (43.9% calories from fat); 5g Protein; 43g Carbohydrate; 2g
    Dietary Fiber; 39mg Cholesterol; 247mg Sodium. Exchanges: 1

    1/2 cup vegetable shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs -- beaten 1
    1/2 tablespoons buttermilk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1
    teaspoon baking soda 2 cups all-purpose flour -- sifted
    2/4 cup chopped nuts 1 cup grated apples

    Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Beat well.
    Mix in milk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together
    and add, mixing thoroughly. Fold in nuts and apples. Pour
    into a greased 9x5x3" loaf pan. Bake in a 350°F. oven for
    60 minutes.

    Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 254 Calories; 11g Fat
    (39.4% calories from fat); 4g Protein; 35g Carbohydrate; 1g
    Dietary Fiber; 31mg Cholesterol; 117mg Sodium. Exchanges: 1
