Dora, You are a brave woman. I would not have had the nerve
to send Barbara a website that features pickled beets as one
    of its recipes.

I wonder whether they have pickled beet hats there.....

I'm familiar with the site, Dora. Thanks. The note and
'recipe' for studenina brought back fond memories. Neighbor
kid liked it -- sometimes he'd come over and ask if Mom "had
    any of that 'stewed ninna'.

Nah, you'd have just sent the damn beets! Except that you
    wouldn't have them yourself.

(sigh...). I'm always waiting to hear that we have a
convert, Margaret. It'll probably take a long time, but I'm
    patient. ;-)

OK, good. I found the site entirely by accident, when
browsing for the method to make buttermilk using a
buttermilk starter. Try to keep an open mind about beets,
    though! :-D

Honey, my mind is so open on the topic that any
thoughts of eating them just go right straight through,
    with nary a stop.
