  1. Hey. Im new here, im 21, just getting back into mountian biking, ive been out of it for a few years, and my old bike got stolen. Anyway, heres my question. I came across a brand new Giant XTC SE frame for 200 bucks (its an '02 but it was never used) Its a 19" frame. im 6'1. My old bike was 18" and i swore id never move up in size because i felt much more meneuverable on the 18" frame. I havnt ridden in about 3 years, and im hoping 19" is good. what would someone my height normally ride?

thanks for the input, and i look forward to my stay here🙂

I'm 6'0 and I am riding a 20" bmx frame (12 speed). All that matters is your riding style. I prefer manueverability over the stability of a larger frame but i just moved up from 19" to 21" (not the same as mtb measurements) and it didn't take very long to adjust to it.

  3. I bet you can adjust to anything. Having said that, I'm 6'2" and have always been most comfortable on a 16" (small) frame. I tried getting used to a 21" once and it was terrible. VERY hard to manuever. When I dropped back to 16" or 18", it was like a dream by comparison (you know that feeling when you take your ski boots off after a day of skiing?.....kind of like that).
