  1. I know it is frowned upon to wear jerseys like USPS, yellow/green jerseys and full team kits. But what about just pro team jerseys and black bibs, all the time?
Im a beginner but I love the sport and follow it closely. To me, solid color jerseys from brands like Pearl Izumi are boring and unattractive. If I'm going to spend $50-70 on a jersey why shouldnt I get one that I like, right??

    Fine or poseurish??

  2. Where did you find USPS jerseys at 50 - 70?

Welcome to the sport & welcome to the hornets nest. Some frown deeply on anyone wearing full kits while the rest don't care. Now yellow or green jerseys - I wouldn't dare wear in any group ride & I really can't recall actually seeing anyone wearing them on a ride. Full Kits lots of guys & girls I ride with wear them - if it is USPS they are riding generally in the fast group & can pound almost anyone that smarts off about it. I wear the standard black spandex shorts & regular jerseys - of course I haven't had the cash to blow on a team kit until recently. Just a friendly reminder - do not show up for a USCF race etc... in a jersey or shorts if you are not sponsored by said team - they will generally send you packing to put on plain riding gear.

I did break down and buy 2 USPS kits last week (still waiting for the jerseys like everyone else) just simply for the fact that I kick myself for not picking up the 7-11 set when I had the chance years ago. I will probably not wear them often but I have them.

Real simply - you bet, wear what you want to wear & enjoy the ride.
