    NEIL DRYSDALE July 02 2004

    When David Millar's lawyer, Paul-Albert Iweins, issued an
    explanation last night for why empty syringes had been found
    in his client's Biarritz flat "He was keeping them as
    souvenirs" it was almost enough for neutral observers to
    turn into Homer Simpson and utter an almighty "Doh!"

    Certainly does sound like one of the outlandish excuses
    Homer would cook up.

    Goddamm.

    Millar's excuse does not compare to the all-time great: "the
    drugs were for my dog".
