Did some checking and it seems Ford does NOT own Lotus (yet). Ford and Lotus did merge to produce
the Cortina and Ford has been in and out of bed with Lotus in the racing division. Ford was offered
Lotus and Ford chose not to buy up Lotus and Proton now owns 80% of Lotus, BUT Ford is trying to buy
a 30% block of Proton and the (industry) rumor mill is that Ford wants Lotus in their stable with
Aston-Martin and Jaguar.
