Not personally familiar In The Flesh, but I've yet to hear
any bad words about Kona and most good reputations like that
are earned. On top of that, it looks good on paper and like
it has been designed by people with function rather than
form in mind. Aside from the gearing being a bit low at the
front (48/38/28 I'd have thought would be better suited for
urban road use). It's good to see things like rigid forks,
CroMo steel frame and mudguards on a general purpose hack
bike. Looks good to me.

Thanks Pete. That's useful. I'm also considering the Dawes
Discovery 301, Specialized Crossroads, and Claud Butler
Urban 300. But I do like the Smoke as it looks like a very
durable bike. /dave
