  1. Nathan's posterior is doing a very good impersonation of a
1970s rock band - Deep Purple. He came off his bike last
night taking a turn too quickly and having the pedal on the
inside of the turn in the down position. This resulted in
Nathan assuming the downed position very quickly thereafter.
Entirely his own fault. He has a nice range of road rash on
various bits of his anatomy and substantial bruising. The
nose of his saddle hit the base of his spine quite harshly
and the resultant bruising is spectacular. As I saw the
whole thing, my heart skipped a few beats and I've never run
so quickly in my life to get to him to check him over.

    Cheers, helen s

Are you sure he's comfortable with his mum describing
embarrassing accidents and intimate details of his anatomy
    for the world to read..?

    Presumably his shorts are another rock band: . . . . . . . .
    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Die Toten Hosen

I am, of course, but was also exaggerating a tad 🙂

I notice no-one's asked for JPEGs. And I'm certainly not
about to be the one to do so.

Ouch. Done (pretty much) that at (pretty much) that age
(cornering much to fast in heavy rain). The comforting thing
is, I've never done it since. So it may be the last time you
or anyone else sees his backside that colour.

Ouch! Poor lad - and poor you, too, must've been scary to
    watch.

I hope he'll be better soon, but I guess he'll be riding out
of the saddle for a while.

Was the bike damaged at all ?

Well in my experience, if they're kranken in a critical
place they're definitely toten. Unless he wants Die Welt to
    see his Bratwurst ;-)

And with the glory of google groups, he'll be able to look

If Helen supplies them, they should go on your site along
with the bibshorts/nipples perversion pictures :-)

That's fascinating. However, Danny's pictures are MUCH
worse, because of whose nipples they show...?!

Been there, done that - and in competition at that
(criterium at the County Showground, Harrogate; inevitably
it all went wrong just as I was starting to make progress
and move up the field [1]). Ruined a rather pricey pair of
bibshorts into the bargain, but the original poster may view
this as A Good Thing ;-)

Ouch (and then some)! Hope he's on the mend already; pass on
a "get well" message from me.

[1] This accident was partly responsible for my decision
to move to the realm of cyclo-cross, in which
accidents in bunched races tend to involve lower
    speeds and softer landings!

Thanks - it was scary to watch. That old Mother Instinct
kicked into gear and I had him checked over for breakages in
seconds... The pit opening in my stomach as I heard him
scream as he hit the deck was not a sound I enjoyed hearing.

Well, he was due to cycle last night, but there was a
galeforce wind plus rain, so discretion was the better part
of valour last night. He's due to ride in an event at the
weekend - but we'll see how he feels. personally I'd like
him to be back on the bike a.s.a.p.

Just a deep gouge out of a pedal, handlebar tape scuffed,
saddle bent & handlebars bent. All stuff that can be
    sorted easily.

When katie had her first crash (it was on the track) my
stomach felt sick. Natural reaction I suppose. She was very
    proud of the scars tho'.

Any chance of some results for Nathan?

I understand he rode the GHS 10 recently.

What was his place and time?
