  1. If you're a mountain biker who likes to ride in the bush,
    read on...

NPWS has released a draft plan of management for comment
containing a new access policy of bicycling (among other
things) in Kosiuszcko National Park. Here in NSW, wilderness
legislation allows for bicycles on fire trails in
wilderness, but this proposal bans cycles from all but two
small areas - a 10 km out & back ride and a 30 km loop in
the two most crowded areas, with a provision to close them
    to bikes in peak times.

Considering that wilderness makes up around 50% of the park,
with pressure for more, this is a huge area to lose.

Unless enough people scream, what was the best MTB riding in
the state will be mostly off-limits.

NPWS has a web page for submissions:

    nationalparks.nsw.gov.auKosciu
    szkoNP_mgmtplan_draft

    the more submissions, the better.

If you're a rockclimber, the news is also pretty bad.
