  1. Hi- I just recently bought a Mongoose 21 speed 26" Mountain Bike, and I have set it up and made the proper ajustments to the brakes, and still the brakes on both the front and back brakes squeek when the brakes are pressed. I toe'd in the brake blocks, all the screws are tight, teh brakes work with no problems, they just squeek. PLease if there anything I can do- or should I take it in for repair,

    Please let me know.

    Thanks

try sanding down the brake pads just a tiny bit.

  3. Yeah, sanding the brake pads lightly is a good idea. Also clean your rims with soap and water. Sometimes a bit of chain lube, or other grease can get on there and give you a case of the squealies.
