I seem to be having trouble feeling support for Lance. He seems to be SUCH A HEART BREAKER.................. Am I all alone in my feelings? I know I'm letting his personal life effect my judgement but I can't help it! How come he seems to always be leaving the women who love and support him?

I never heard anyone say for sure how his marriage broke up only speculation.😕 -

When I read his comments on his relationship breakups..he always says.."we decided to divorce"...or something about it being a mutual decision. I may just be a bitter woman but in guy talk doesn't that just mean....I moved on.His first girlfriend supported him through cancer treatments...you only do that if you're in love. And his wife had his babies!! I just remember reading in his book about how his wife was afraid to date him at first because she didn't want to get hurt...and now look what happened. I just feel bad for these two women. He brushes off their feelings like they were not hurt and I don't buy it.
Maybe if I heard something to let me know these two women were doing well....................
It may sound judgemental and silly but because of his treatment of women.....I just don't favor him anymore.

I still have seen nor heard any proof that he is a bad person on the relationship level. Besides as Bill Clinton would say "that is my personal life" Disclaimer: I do not agree with Clinton nor his lifestyle.😄

"SPOTLIGHT GROUPPIE".......?????
I haven't seen any of his ex's in magazines with their new boyfriends..................but I certainly see a whole bunch of Lance and his new girlfriend............MORE OF HIM AND HER THAN ....his team mates or his kids.I don't think he's a bad person. It is just my feeling that someone like Tyler Hamilton has more heart.

It is just my feeling that someone like Tyler Hamilton has more heart.Grouppie, yes and this was information passed on to me from people who in theory know people ,not media coverage. Just because he is the most sucessful person in a relationship gone bad does not make him the bad person. If his ex were an actress or entertainer I am sure she would be getting coverage also. I still need to see the proof and besides you don't win the tour 5 times without a lot of heart. PS: Hamilton is great also, it could be his year.

Tina,
It may be me or the way you express yourself in your writing but you sound devestated. Like your whole life revolves around Lance. I have to agree with jhuskey here, it is all speculation.
Your comment about you might just be bitter...did you get dumped by someone that you really loved???? There are always 2 sides to every story and one side here might be that there was a women that Lance met...his ex-wife...and she was apprehensive at first and when she got exposed to the lime light began to change and start to forget about Lance. jhuskey also made another good point...Lance is the star, not the women he dates so when they are gone, they are gone.

Could it just be that Lance is one of those people who don't do well in long-term relationships ie marriage?
-
Or maybe the man is just focused on what he is paid to do? Cycle. I bet once he is done with cycling, his social life will get better. I think his 'job' is a lot more physically demanding then any of ours

My life doesn't revolve around him.
And yes my heart has been broken...hasn't everyone's at one time or another?

Dont think anyone knows REALLY what went on to make them split. Maybe it was HER decision and not LA's to split up.
I think women always take this view, that in some way its the mans fault, but more often than not, these days its the woman who ducks out.

What is the biggest thing that a professional athlete has to sacrifice? It's his/her sport. Period.
I don't think Lance is giving up much at all right now. He's doing exactly what he wants to do every hour of the day.
I'm not against Lance though. I think the world puts a lot of pressure on him to win and the sad thing about sport nowdays is that you have to be very selfish in order to be at the top.
I think he's a superb athlete, but my admiration lies with those who have given up the possibility for a chance at the top because of commitments to ones they love..... -

Many extreme athletes have physical problems later in life or die in their 40's or 50's. They sacrifice their bodies for the sport. It may not fill a romance novel but giving up 20-30 years of life is a sacrifice to me. I guess it all comes down to your priorities in life. Honorable or not as they may be. We all give up something for something else sooner or later. Some more, some less.

Glad to agree (always feels much nicer don't you think??)..
I've always felt that Lance's true love was his sport ... Should they have got married then? Always easier in hindsight !Ok, to be brutally honest -- one thing I don't really like is that he had kids and then in "my opinion" has not spent enough time with them. But hey -- that's the story of most fathers, so why criticize him in particular? - Well, we tend to look up to great athletes (and yes, I am a cycling fanatic), more than great fathers...
Ok - this is getting too serious. Sorry
Cheers
