on offer is a fantastic pair of DMT R2 road shoes in size
43.5. these shoes are in fabulous condition having been
ridden mostly indoors on the trainer, with a dozen or so
rides outside. selling because i realized that i bought
them too small - i need more room for my full-length
orthotic footbeds.
if you're unfamiliar with the DMT brand, they're a high-end
shoe manufacturer that caters to the best european and north
american pro teams. alessandro petacchi was wearing DMT
shoes when he won nine (9) stages in the 2004 Giro d'Italia
- that's right...9 stage wins wearing DMT shoes!
the R2 model is a high-end design with the following
features:
- a super-thin and super-stiff carbon reinforced sole -
they dont get any better than this! the soles are also
in amazing condition with only the slighest of
scuffing. i typically wear shoe-covers so they've been
nicely protected in the few numbers of rides they've
been on outside.
- the upper features dual fiber-reinforced velcro straps
for a balance of high-security and comfort. the uppers
are in fantastic condition with no scratches, scrapes or
scuffs. the only sign of use are a couple small circles
drawn on the outside of the shoe by the pinkie toe - this
was done by my orthopedist to aid in fitting and have no
impact on the shoe's function - heck, they're almost
invisible in the pics.
- insole is new and unused, as i've been using my
custom footbeds.
- cleat-adapter plate, with look and spd drilling, is also
new and unused. adapter plates for other pedal systems
are available. also, if you're a speedplay pedal user,
the speedplay cleat nestles right into the sole w/o any
adapter plate, so you can get an ever lower shoe-to-
pedal height!
- sizing. in my experience, DMT shoes fit true-to-size.
these 43.5 shoes fit just like sidi and shimano road
shoes in 43.5.
- misc. some of the foam material has been nicked away from
the right heel-cup from brushing up against my chainstay.
this is a purely aesthetic consideration and hardly
visible when riding, but i just want to fully disclose all
aspects of the condition of these shoes.
