Hi guys - I recently upgraded to Dura-Ace 10 speed with an 11-23 cassette. On occasions, I prefer a 26 for some steeper hills and with 9 speed, it was easy to swap out a (say, 14) and add the spacer and the 26 at the end.
I tried this with the D/A 10 last night, but even with the spacer, the 26 sits too close to the 23. If I put 2 D/A spacers in, the gap between the 26 and the 23 is right, but I then need an additional spacer. I tried adding one from a 9 speed set and all looks good until you get to the 11 as there is no longer room on the spline for it.

Shimano 10 speed center to center spacing is 3.95 mm. The cog thickness is 1.6 mm and the spacer is 2.35 mm. Shimano 9 speed spacers are 2.56 and 9 speed cogs are 1.78 mm.
You really need to use the thicknesses of cogs and spacers that will keep the 3.95 mm center to center spacing for best indexing and to add up to the space available accross the cassette body.
