  1. It's a day late, and I had to make a trip to london
    specially to collect=20
it. But hey, travel late, and drive one stop down the line,
    and it's=20 only =A318 return...

HPvelo built the wrong hub into the wheel, so I haven't
got the Hopes=20 fitted yet, so we'll have to take a trip
into london in the next two=20 weeks. And they forgot the
    head rest...

But, it's still brilliant. I've found out how unfit I am
though 🙁 still=20 that should improve over the coming
    weeks 🙂=20

First ride was a baptism of fire. first time on an
understeered bicycle,=20 first time I've cycled in london,
nearly the first time I've ridden a=20 recumbent, and it
was 5:30 on a Friday evening. Oh, and I only had a=20
vague idea which direction I needed to go in, and because
I stood on my=20 glasses last week, I was struggling to
read the signposts. All went well=20 though, apart from
one fall. I put my right foot down but the GH went to=20
    the left =3D8-o=20

got home, and Martha (my youngest) insisted that we go for
a ride=20 together. So theres me wobbling along testing my
low speed skills trying=20 to keep _down_ with her, while
trying to give left/right instructions to=20 Martha (she
is dyslexic, and still has problems with right/left=20
distinction!) and she's slowing down to chat to me, so I'm
telling her=20 to speed up a bit. Still, we got back in
    one piece.

Then I needed to go and have a bit of a blat, so off i
went. Wheee :o) I've not worked out the gearing yet, but
the lowest seems to be VERY=20 low, I can't imagin how I'm
going to be able to spin fast enough to=20 maintain
sufficent forward motion so as not to fall over. Oh, and
you=20 shouldn't pul on the bars on a recumbent, should
    you? Ooops.=20

I'll try and get ome picies of a fat [censored] on a 'bent this
weekend and=20 let you all marvel at how wonderful it is. 😄

I'm happy 😄 (though I've been told that I've to get on with
the=20 decorating this weekend!) --=20 .paul

If at first you don't succeed... Skydiving is probably not
    the sport for you.

  2. Lucky b*.... I'm off the road for a week at least .. just as I was really
enjoying an 'every night 15 miles jaunt'. 🙁

If anyone knows Leckhampton Hill, thats where I managed to
    spill like a twit!

(And if my brother actually reads Usenet, then I definitely
used my body to comfort the crash off our Dad's camera).

If you have a broadband connection ... you may want to see
the awful enjoyment I love of Leckhampton Hill ....

I will leave the videos up for the next 48 hours .. abuse my
bandwidth, and call me a sad b*****d.

ftp://82.43.166.118/ (right click and save, I'm not doing
    any streaming geek stuff).

I will leave the ftp site open for a while (overnight at
least, and until I reboot (did I promise 48hrs?)), but make
sure you've got broadband. And please forget my sweatyness
    (sic) .....

    Congratulations and have fun :-)

Most FTP servers (I would say all, since that's my
experience, but no doubt I's be wrong) actually require
login. This might include anonymous access, using the dummy
username "anonymous" and generally any old password. If you
hit an FTP site with Internet Exploder it tries anonymous in
the background, I believe (I wonder what it uses for a
password?) and I've used a couple of FTP clients which do
the same if you check the "anonymous" box in the FTP
connection. Go to the same site with a text-mode FTP client
(including typing FTP form a DOS prompt) and you get
    prompted for login.

Your FTP server is asking for a username and password.

The 227 response indicates your machine thinks its IP

Weird, as I have had some people able to download. The
system is Windows XP Pro, so not sure where UNIX is
    coming from.
