people off and raise libability insurance rates is a
requirement of medicine.

Why should a doctor fear a law suit from an attorney more
than the average Joe?

If the attorney-patient decided to sue for malpractice he
wouldnt represent himself anyway. (The man who represents
himself has a fool for a client)

I'm, afraid "fear" isn't the issue Jeffe.

These "doctors"...(the same ones who took a hippocratic
oath) are trying to make a point by rattling their scalpels
thus bringing public attention to their cause.

So people who are legitimately injured are rip off artists
that don't deserve expert testmony?

Expert testimony is not within the scope of medical

The question stands.

Albeit I believe any response short of "These doctors are
trying to make a point to bring attention to the cause"
would be disingenuous.

Personally I believe the best way to curb malpractice rates
is to strip the licenses from the worst offenders.

Case in point there is a local physician who rx'd
app. 10,000 Oxycontin tabs in a four year period. He
was busted. Then he was busted for trading Rx's

He has been prosecuted for molesting patients
and paid a hefty fine for that.... yet he
continues practicing with the blessing of our
state medical board.
