Performance Titan wheels

Hey, with a name like Titan, they gots to be strong!

I weigh 205lbs. I used the Titans for about 2 weeks. I was
nervous about the lack of spokes, but a lot of bikes come
with similar wheels now days. I decided to give them a try.
I contacted the manufacturer (Alex). They rate the wheels
at 193lbs max. But,I am sure they built some buffer into
that rating.

As far as ride: They rode very nice. The bearings are very
smooth. the wheels look and feel to be of high quality. I
was still a little nervous, so I never quite pushed them as
hard as I may have a conventional 32 spoke wheel set. Over
rough pavement and such, they held up fine. In corners
however, they felt a bit flexy. Not dangerous, but not
confidence inspiring either.

Bottom line, I had saved my receipt and did not thrash the
wheels. I cleaned them up and returned them to
Performance. I do think that for anyone under 175lbs, they
would be great. And since they are often on sale, a great
bargain as well.

Hey, with a name like Titan, they gots to be strong!

I didn't. I ended up selling the roadbike instead of
upgrading the wheels. If I were to get new wheels, I would
go with a 32 hole rim, sealed bearing hubs, and 14/15/14
butted spokes. My favorire wheels of all time were: 32 hole
Specialized sealed bearing hubs, Mavic MA40 rims, 14/15/14
butted spokes.
