Lance has 5, Lemond has a virtual 5. Eddy claims in Bicycling magazine he could have had 2 more, in '68, '73 two years he didn't participate when he was in top form, giving him a virtual 7. Anquetil claims he had a virtual 6. Lance only claims 5. Hinault would have had a virtual 6 if it wasn't for that selfish Greg.
Lance needs 8 to be the undisputed King of all times.

I thought Lance needed two. Oh ... I'm sorry. I thought we were talking about something else.

I think Lance needs 6 then needs to win the Giro five times and the Vuelta a few times, a la Merckx.

Actually, Hinault was rather unlucky not to win 1980, so he can claim virtual 7 as well.

How about a Paris-Roubaix? A Milan-San Remo?
Sure! Heck, I'd like to see him just enter the Giro. This "everything for the Tour" is mind boggling.

Virtual Lance isn't on five yet, he just got some of those because der Jan couldn't stay of the Bratwursts and party pills.

Bartali had a virtual 10, at the very least.
Benjo Maso
Don't think very much of Coppi, do you?
Lance gets a virtual 7 right now, because he had at least two years of top form removed along with the other bits of him that cancer got.
I have a virtual win at the World Tuesday Night Championships Novice Men's race series,

Coppi has a virtual 5 or 6. But I'm not so sure he could have beaten Bartali before 1949. That's not just my personal opinion. Goddet has said that during the war years Bartali would have been more or less invincible. And according to Binda Coppi could never have won the Tour of 1948.
