hi all, this is my first post here 😄 i'm from italy and i have a full-suspended bike. i'm going to buy a mirror for my bike, a end-bar one. in the net i've seen the zefal cyclop, it costs in italy 13 euro(s). in decathlon (if you don't know about it, it is a shop that sells only sport accessores) a mirror for 8 euro.
what should I buy? i think the zefal (more price = more quality) but the cyclop is convex, is a good or a bad thing? if I have understood it should mean that i see the things closer then they are in the reality. I don't know if the decathlon one is convex.
help me to choose!

Not sure if this is much help but I just bought a Cateye 'MTB' bar end mirror - things look further away and quite a good field of view. But the fixing is a bit lame (could be taken off quite easily) and the glass fell out this morning. So not really recommended at Euro (ah! where's the key!!!) 12.
Actually, I would go with a ThirdEye eyeglass or h****t mirror (get the Pro model if you go with the H****t model). gives a much better view as it shakes a lot less and turns with your head so you can scan the area behind you.

I dislike helmet mirrors because it is nearly impossible to determine the bearing of the object viewed in the mirror, since the frame of reference is not fixed. On the other hand, determining the bearing of an object viewed in a handlebar mounted mirror is about the same as using an outside mirror on a motor vehicle.

I use Third Eye handlebar end mirrors on my motorcycle. They don't shake at 120+ mph, they don't shake at 10,000 RPM, and I just can't imagine why they would do so on a bicycle. The convex real glass mirror gives a great field of view and doesn't scratch up the way most plastic bicycle "mirrors" do.
My experience (brief) with eyeglass mirrors is that I see my shoulder and nothing else. Actually I had wanted to watch my Doberman Annie in my Tanjor trailer for entertainment, as she becomes interested in various passing things.
The Blackburn Mountain Mirror (bar end) works for this okay. It's way off to the side so it can angle back and see the trailer clearly.
There's a plug-in version and a strap-on version, depending on what kind of bar end you have.

I would say that you aren't setting your eyeglass mirror up correctly if all you see is your shoulder. I've worn eyeglass mirrors for the last 16 years while riding and that is usually not an issue. Only if it's not adjusted properly.
