I'm planing on buying one but cant get any independent
info. Thanks GaryIf you're talking about an older bike, "Windsor" was a
Mexican brand that produced Cinneli copies (some quite good,
as a matter of fact) and several other bikes during the
'seventies (look out for bad paint and sloppy welds on the
frame, though... unskilled Mexican labor, don'tcha know). -

brazed. Poor paint was common on Italian bikes of the
same period. And did you ever look at the paint and
welding on a 70s Huffy? Unskilled American labor,
don'tcha know. Phil Brown -

an inexpensive Chinese made bike sold mostly through mail
order and the internet. Caveat Emptor.Art Harris

Dear Garrison, Phil, and Arthur,
Actually, the Windsors are a low-quality German import from
Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha re-badged for marketing purposes during
the Great War.Æthelred II

unrelated to the brand originally. The brands had fallen
into disuse, and the names not protected, so anyone can pick
them up and start using them again. I believe the current
Windsors fall into this category. I have no idea about the
bikes themselves, or the people selling them though. They
may be terrific, or terribleMatt O.

while ago but I thought they were long gone. I have a
Windsor Profesional (Spanish spelling as it was "Hecho in

nice bike, basically a Cinelli copy. -

a former Cinelli employee. And another Windsor employee (Tim
Isaac) left to become the frame designer at Trek in the

nicely. I raced it in the velodrome for a few years and now
use it as my commuter and fun single speed bike with a
coaster brake hub.Quoted message said:

I'm not too sure there, but I thought MBK still existed in
some form when David Sander started using the "Motobecane"
mark and it follows that Sander probably did pay a minor
amount for the complete rights (or, of course, maybe not).p.s. About the new "Windsor": groups.google.comgroupsOpen ↗
