I've heard a vicious rumour that the Sun Inn in Dent has
changed hands and isn't a patch on what it used to be
(especially the food). Is this true? The Dent Brewery web
site still claims ownership, but it hasn't been updated
since 2002. We're off there this weekend and I've been
looking forward to their Cumberland sausage, please tell me
I won't be disappointed! TIA Simon

he and his companion were eating in the café when we walking
in some years ago.Of course the café may have changed hands also.....

I know the pub was up for sale a while ago. I was up there
about a month ago and the for sale board had gone. The beer
was still Dent Brewery and was very good. The food side left
a little to be desired. Couldn't comment on the Cumberland
sausage but the portions were looking a bit anaemic and
didn't taste as good as they used to.Sorry!

Just as long as the Dent Brewery still supply the beer 🙂 -

Fear not, the rumours were unfounded. The Sun is the same as
it always was. Food is basic but good (especially the
sausage!), beer is as excellent as ever, atmosphere 1st
rate. It may or may not have changed landlord, but if so,
the new owners have left it untouched, even the photos on
the walls are the same.So it's safe to put Dent back on your itinerary :-)

Glad the sausage was ok! The beer was excellent when I was
there but the food wasn't brilliant. Maybe just an off day
as the pub was very busy. Will give them another chance
later in the year.Cheers

I stay there every time in the room with high beds. They are
great and I've never fell out of them yet!... too knackered
from the walking to move. I've never found the food a
problem at either pub on my stays, sausages included.Mike Brockhurst www.walkingenglishman.com
