My wife had quad bypass surgery back in February and
she's doing fine, except for swelling in the ankle in the
leg where they harvested veins. It's painful for her and
I'm wondering if anyone has any tips that she might be
able to try out? Elevating the leg doesn't seem to work.
Thanks in advance.

Exercise as much as you can, gently..
Massage the foot at nightfall when swelling is at a maximum
Obtain a supply of PADMA from a good herbal pharmacy and
take 2-3 tabs three times a day. Padma is a 100 year old
tibetan mixture of herbs which assists at creating new veins
around arterial blocages and where the leg vein has been
taken out..Be optimistic that the swelling will subside in the weeks
and months to come (as it has in my case)liaM

Horse chestnut and bilberry are useful for leg pains.

Thanks in advance. It seems the doctor would be a good source of information
here since it is related to surgery.Mine once suggested Venastat for improving circulation in
the legs. Although I no longer need it, it did seem to
help. As far as elevating the leg, what I found worked
best for me was to lie on the floor on my back and put the
legs up on the couch for about 20 minutes (knees bent at a
right angle).Terri

My cardiologist put me on diuretics to get rid of the water,
but don't know if that would be the same thing for her. Mine
was from the med. I was taking.. Nel(Mark Herring)
