Recently I got an old Bridgestone Sport bike (no model name!) with Shimano Altus/SR/Suntour equipment, in bad condition - really needing a restoration. I'd like to do that, but where to find original decals?
I read in some old "Bicycling" magazines about BOB club etc., but no refernces to it lately...
that's a really low-end bicycle. Unless you had a childhood love affair with that bike, most people would not bother restoring it, because even in NOS condition the bike is worth only $100 or $150. Although the frame may be good, the parts are of low quality and will not last very long and will go out of adjustment more frequently.
Why not sell the bike and buy a real bridgestone race quality bike for $300, and restore it ?? Your effort would not be wasted on such a bike, and it should last for 10 or 20 years of hard use after the restoration.

Or buy a brand new never built red 57.5 cm Bridgstone RB 1 frame + fork [1992]. I have one. However, I wouldn't consider selling it for below 1K. /PaulN

Good luck with that. A pristine complete '92 RB-1 went for $1100 and change on E-bay the other day. tinyurl.com2deakOpen ↗. Don't get me wrong, I like that bike. In fact I owned one, teethed myself on it, so to speak.

To be quite honest, I am with love with my Bridgstone RB 1 frame and probably would not sell it. I also have a complete 92 RB-1 with less than 300 miles on it which I would not sell either. I also have a 93 Bridgstone RB 1 with about 40K on it and I would not sell it either. End of story.
Well, I also have a KickBike... [not for sale either].
