Hello, I am a comuter here in Madison, WI. USA.
I am not sure if this forum is for US biking or not, so if it isn't just let me know and I will drop my post.
I want to know about suspension seatposts.
My butt is a bit sore. I have a wide gel seat and it has been adjusted a bit. I just switched to a cheap suspension seatpost and it made a big difference. The problem is I am 6'-6" and 255 lbs.
The cheap post gets compressed when I sit and I get very little travel out of it.
The streets here in Madison are a lot of patch work, every 8 feet I go over patches in the pavement. The "bottom" line is that I do not have big bumps to smooth out, just a lot of them.
Is there a suspension seat post that I can get springs that are designed for my weight? are there other technologies for the seat posts?
ps, I have front shocks and that helps my wrists a lot. I have a used gary fischer Marlin( the only used bike in my size)
I ride 25 miles a day when it isn't raining, except weekends.
thank you for your time and have a good day.
