  1. I'm finally ready to buy a wetsuit, and I have a few questions. First,
is there anything wrong with the Orca Speedsuit Long sleeve Tri wetsuit,
    pictured at:

    tinyurl.comywtsy

Secondly, they say size 7 is for people 160-175lbs and 5'9"-
    6'3", while size 8 is for 175-188 lbs and 5'10"-6'4". I'm
about 5'10" and 175 right now. When I did my Ironman last
year, I was down to 169, and I'm sometimes in the 178-180
range, but mostly during the offseason. Which size seems
    like a better bet?

    They're selling the suit for $229, and I have a $25 off
coupon from USAT, so though I think I'd prefer the DeSoto T1
Tres, I might end up getting this one instead.

As far as my goals go, I'm working to get faster in all 3
disciplines and hope to make it into the top half of
finishers in locla events soon (My last race I was 128 out
of 199, and I think shaving off a few minutes is very
realistic, which would have put me in the top 100).

    Thanks!

  2. hey harold. the orcas tend to run just a little small so i
would get 1 size larger than what they show on the sizing
label. even better i would try one on to be sure. i own the
desoto T1 and IT ROCKS!!!! i would look at the desoto again
if i were you. emilio also has a 15 day no questions asked
return policy so if it does not fit he will take it back
and exchange it for the correct size.with the T1 you can
also get 2 different sizes for the top and bottom. good
    luck biged

For what it is worth. I am 6', 185, but my chest is large
(not fat). I bought an Ironman large, sleeveless, which was
supposed to fit, but it was tight around my chest, and
restricted my breathing. So I bought an XL and it is
perfect. If you think an Ironman Large will fit you, I will
    sell mine half price.

Damn! That sounds like a great deal, but I think a large
would be too big for me based on the size chart I found.
    Thanks anyway!

  5. Hey Biged, I also have a Desoto and it is really warm in
cold water but slower than my one piece suits by a
noticeable amount. Have not figured why as it fits quite
snug and my one piece suits fit a bit sloppy but both are
faster. It may be buoyancy is better in the other suits.

  6. hey ken aloha just FYT we met in kona 2 years ago at the
keauhou kona 1/2 i am carloses friend from miami. i had the
QR full and lent it to somebody who proceeded to put their
foot through the heel of the suit.he paid me for the wetsuit
and i replaced it with the T1 i looked at the new orca (the
red one) and i just could not get it to fit comfortably (i
have a long torso) the T1 fits perfectly it is snug and most
importantly it has no pulling in the side area when i extend
my stroke. as far as speed i would say i am the same or just
slightly faster in the T1 but it definately takes less
energy to use. as far as warmth i just got back from Escape
From Alcatraz (after the keauhou kona
1/2 back to back) the water was REALLY COOOOOLD!!!!!! 57-59
degrees and that T1 did its job along with the desoto hood
(as well as 2 swim caps and a set of ear plugs). i said it
B4 and i will say it again I LOVE MY T1!!! talk to you
