  1. Now I would just like to ask if there are people out there
like me who think about MTBing a lot. For example driving
through the Autobahn, I see many hills and ditches and I
always visualizze how I would take the steep ass downhill
ride. I see a gap, I always think I wish I had a bike right
now so I can try to jump that gap. I get excited looking at
places I want to MTB. I'm constantly searching for a better
bike, but won't buy one and stick to my cheap ass $300
Diamondback Hardtail. (We've been through some crazy places
for the past 3 years) When I see a nice MTB on a bikerack I
want to test ride it. It seems like I'm obssesed. Believe me
though it's not my only hobby. So any crazy people like me
    out there?

I do that all the time. But the real sickness was the other
day, when I was driving home and, having just been working
on pedalling through the downhills, found myself pushing the
gas pedal to go faster and faster down the hill ... I
honestly didn't realize I was in my car.

Fortunately, I caught myself before the police did.

Kind of creepy that there are people like this in the world. What kind of weirdo wouldn't buy at least one new bike in 3 years?

Last weekend my son and I were out on a section of trail
which I have not been on in a while. It is one of my
favourite pieces of trail anywhere - major roots, rocks,
down and uphills, technical riding. I said to him, "Phillip
when I die, bury me out here".

He gave me a funny look like I was nuts.

Which goes to show he doesn't know the truth.

I'm thinking he shops at AAFES and their selection is
meager. But things are looking up. They just started
    stocking GTs!

For a while, it was cheaper to fly to the US, buy a bike and
fly back with it than to buy here.

    Here's another one.(this is true)

I had a dream a few nights ago that I got a new bike, but it
was really heavy. It was a very disturbing dream.

Tell me MTB psychiatrist - what does this mean? Am I losing
my mind? Do I have MTB sickness?

Maybe just dumb...every so often I'm in a traffic jam and
there's this way out of it that involved hopping a curb and
I find myself pushing my butt back in the driver's seat and
pulling up on the steering wheel.... so far, I've caught
    myself in time....

On the road between Euskirchen and Bitburg, there are some
fields on a steep hillside with outcrops of rock. They would
be perfect for small cliff jumps (8-15'😉. Unfortunately,
it's farmland and all the rocky areas are fenceded off to
stop sheep falling over the edge.

You should try being a bmxer. Everywhere you go, you're
constantly assessing what it would be like to ride. Every
rail, ledge, bank, gap and wall is an opportunity to
ride. Once you ride bmx, you never look at a city the
    same way again.
