you have all the TDF's videos from WCP where Lance won in
the full 8 hour versions and do you have the best Lance
posters from Watson on the walls of your office? My old LZ
obsession pales in comparision to this Lance pied piper
thing you have. Have you met Lance in person and had photo
opts with him? Autographs? Just curious, not a dig. This is
a fred to fred A to B conversation, C to Z can stay out of
it. Since others have repeatly brought up my LZ attaction, I
thought I would ask what winds your clock about Lance? He
certainly isn't everyones idol anymore.

I have one 4 hour dvd of the 2001 Tour. (That purchase was
motivated more by having just gotten a new dvd player and
there being little bicycle racing dvd choice at WCP at that
time. I do have all the historical dvds that WCP carries--
much more interesting that any of the Tour dvds) I have key
mountain stages from 2003 on tape off OLN. Most of my other
OLN/ESPN/ABC Tour tapes have been copied over with Disney
Channel movies for my daughter. No Watson posters at all,
unless you consider Watson's calendar a poster, in which
case, I have one that was given to me. I suppose for July,
that might count as a Lance poster on my office wall. I also
have an official 1979 Tour de France calendar that has some
neat photos of Thevenet and DeLise. At some point the dates
and days should all match again, and I'll be able to use that--
if not in this life, then in a subsequent reincarnation.

What I find interesting and unfortunate is the way that the
cycling press, particularly english speaking, worships
Armstrong and helps to create the Lance Armstrong mythology.
If you want an example of a fauning interview at its
best/worst, take a look at the Pez Cycling interview done
earlier this year. He's a good, one trick pony. The
qualities that make him so good on the bike, make him less
desirable as a person. I look forward to Lance and Sheryl
doing a Cialis commercial for OLN in the years to come.

Lances charisma seems to be zilth compared to Greg. Greg was
funny and seems to have been a cooler dube then Lance? Gregs
temper seems to add to his character, for the better it

No everybody loved Lemond. But Lemond was/is a classy
gentleman. From what I've read, it seems that his fellow
riders in the peloton liked him as a person far more than
Armstrong is liked today. That is not to say that today's
riders don't respect Armstrong--at least in the Tour if not
the spring classics. Oh yes, I do have the 2003 LBL dvd. I
bought it to see Tyler throughout the race, but found that
Armstrong's tactical nous was hillarious.
