it makes no sense to "treat" until the stuff is looked
at under a microscope(which can detect many forms of
    vaginal flora)

hormone replacement therapy ..by itself....does not mean it
    is yeast....

best to see a doc who can look under scope..or culture..and
    treat accordingly..

Vagisal..etc for itch relief is a good option...but will
only help the itch..not if any change in flora..

those old enuf to be using HRT do have a problem with
    vaginal dryness and itching..

    hawki.....

  4. That's an Alternative suggestion?

Creams available include brand names such as Monistat,
Femstat, Gyne-Lotrimin, and Mycostatin. Homeopathic creams,
as well are available such as Vagisil which is at least
helpful in reducing the incessant itching that is present in
    most yeast infections.

no, it's not an alternative suggestion but it is the best
one I could think of. I don't actually know of an effective
alternative treatment for yeast, but of course that doesn't
mean there isn't one. I have read oregano oil is helpful,
but it seems to me that might burn a little bit. there's
something in yogurt called lactobacillus acidophilus a
"good" bacteria, that may help as well. Garlic and oil leaf
extract are also supposed to have some anti-fungal
properties. and of course, if none of that seems helpful
and the diflucan (which is a pill) doesn't seem to sit very
well, there's always monistat cream (you can buy it over
    the counter now)
