  1. At present I am taking a large amount of medication for
various illness. One is a strong pain killer for back pain.
Could you advise me if there is an alternative treatment
that would be suitable for me to use. Please note I have a
heart condition and lung complaints as well.

    Many thanks

You would need to see someone well versed in both
Alternative and conventional medicine. Do not trust an MD to
know anything about Alternative or the interactions between
the two. Find someone who knows both, well.

You may wish to try Acupuncture. It is quite safe and would
not conflict with your current medications.

You should not see anyone who will remove you from your
current medications without telling you a damn good
    reason why.

If anyone tells you to take anything else, ask them if it
wil linterfere with your current medications.

And, do not waste your time, money or hope on CHEATlation.

  6. If you're taking several heart meds, plus you have lung
problems and are on something for pain regarding your back,
seriously, you need to talk to your doctor! You are taking
an awfully big chance of some drug interaction if you
attempt to use herbs, some vitamins, etc. If you're unhappy
with what you are presently taking for pain , why not just
ask your doctor to prescribe or recommend something else?
considering your health status I think you'd be taking a big
risk by trying to self medicate. Just because something may
be deemed "natural" does not mean it is harmless , free of
    drug interactions or side effects.

  7. Put a friggin' ice pack on the pain area where the nerve
leaves the spine before drifting off to sleep.

I did not read that they wanted to "self medicate" , only
    asking for help.

True, and just because the "doctor" gave it to you, does not
always mean that it is safe or even the correct thing.

  9. this person appears to be a cardiac patient. If he or she is
taking anti-coagulants for example, vitamin E and or Garlic
could cause a life threatening interaction. That's one
example. The meds are not known, the condition of the heart
is not known, the condition of the lungs is not known and
the reason the person is taking pain meds for the back is
not known. It would be dangerous and foolish to suggest this
person take something that might cause serious side effects,
possibly even death. It would be better for him or her to
talk to the treating physician about making any kind of a
change. If he or she is unhappy with his or her current
doctor of course he or she can certainly find another. But
it would be very risky to take anything being on heart meds
    etc. without medical supervision.
