I found an old single speed Raleigh yesterday,it's at least
20 years old. What surprised me was the weight of it,it's as
light (or lighter)than my CRO-MO road bike.I thought those
old bikes were supposed to be heavy.

admittedly not a single speed though - that has a Cro-Mo
decal on the seat tube. -
Raleigh's were ahead of their time. My sister had one and I
had a Schwinn back in the 70's. Her bicycle was so much
lighter and nicer than my Schwinn and she bought it before I
had mine. I think it was cheaper to.Curt
