  1. A couple of months ago I realised that my weight had
increased quite quickly, just as it did before my heart
disease was diagnosed. My ankles and legs and abdomen were
fatter. My GP doubled my diuretic dose to 2 x 5/40 Co-
amilofruse. Despite having to go to the loo a lot more (5
times this morning up to 11am) I still have swollen ankles
etc. Question: is there a maximum dose of any diuretic that
a physician would use to get the desired result or is it not
that simple? My electrolytes and kidney function are OK. The
hospital prescribed Spiranolactone last year but my doc does
    not like this drug. Diana
