Somebody sent me a promo that suggests that the body needs
trace amount of the rare and heavy element called Indium.
Does Indium have any good effect or is it at all needed
by the body?

Highly unlikely. I could not find studies on the health
benefits of indium What type of Indium is being suggested?
Indium Sulphate? Indium Phosphide? Indium Trichloride?
Indium Arsenide?
Like all substances, it depends on the form being taken,
Indium can be highly toxic or non-toxic. People handling
Indium Trichloride are required to wear gloves, goggles and
a respirator mask to avoid inhalation, yet pure Indium
requires no precautions.
Indium's main uses are in electronic circuits and nuclear
medicine. The mineral is not found in food or water, so I
would be hesitant about trying something that does not form
part of the normal food chain.
