I am being bullied at the swimming pool and I don't know what to do about it. I am extremely skinny and this is the problem. A few months ago a group of lads laughed at my body as I was getting changed. I thought nothihg of it at the time, thyinking it was just a bunch of losers with nothing better to do. However now I know better. The abuse has become systematic. They have worked out the times I come to the pool and they ensure there is always at least two of them there to mock me.
Should I ride this out, confront them or change pools?
go immediately to the pool staff to file a complaint. it is the staff's responsibility to be apprised of harrassment cases. and you are being harrassed. also begin to document these harrassment incidents. and secure witnesses while in the process. with such combined efforts the harrassers can be denied access to the pool.
one more thing, study very carefully the body of shape of competitieve swimmers. many olympic swimmers have long thing muscles in comparison to athletes of other sports who have considerably more bulk.

Yeah, and put on some weight. Add some weight training to your exercise program, and a little kick boxing aerobics.

He who lives by the sword will die by the sword. No. Turn the other cheek. Eventually their behaviour will shame them, as Mr Smith's advice does him.

Yeah, sure.
It's obviously upsetting you greatly, and I understand how you feel, having been bullied as a child. Don't take any notice of people who clearly don't understand how very upsetting this sort of thing is. How you deal with it is up to you. I would tell the staff, even though it's happening in the changing area. If it's a council run pool you can write a letter to them as they have very clear policies on preventing bullying and persecution in their facilities. If you feel able to confront them then that may work as they are probably continuing because they know you never say anything back to them. Find something about them that hurts - do they have bad acne? Bad teeth? Dodgy hair? Standing up to them may be enough to stop them. And let me tell you this: having been bullied as a kid, as an adult I NEVER stand by and watch people get away with this. If I was there I would be the first to put them in their place. Don't get me started...

Is "Gullible" an English word?
Gleshna - Multi-Thousandaire
Actually the word is widely thought, amongst etymologists, to derive from the old Norse word "gulr". That would make it at least partly a Norwegian word. The "ible" suffix derives from French, and indeed Latin. Is thousandaire an American word? Or just made-up bollocks. For the record, however, I would rather be thought of as a gullible person and do no harm to the alleged deceiver, than be thought of as callous. A simple philosophy, but one which pleases me.
