I am trainig for a trialthlon and my swimming is coming on leaps and bounds. However upon finishing a session I come out of the pool feeling dizzy, with a terrible headache just in the front of my head (like a migraine) and feeling sick and uneasy for about an hour.
I have tried changing my goggles as I have a big head and felt maybe they were too tight, I still haven't ruled this out as I still come out of the pool with rings round my eyes. However I can't get looser goggles and they can't be that tight as water still creeps in.

Your symptoms match what I get pre-migraine, and also what I get when I have low blood glucose (I have type-II diabetes). Exercise can induce migraines. I also find that after I exercise my bg will go lower than the norm--well below 100, to around 80. But 15 minutes of rest, even without eating anything, and the bg is back to the low 100s. You might want to experiment with a post-work out bagel or some triathlete gel or something poolside.
Congratulations on your progress! Madelaine

Any ideas as to what this might be?
Murray
Do you get the same or similar symptoms if you have an equivalent amount of exercise which is not swimming, e.g. running or cycling?

Could be originating from your neck. Might be worth seeing an osteopath to check it out. Either that or a swim teacher who specializes in the alexander technique. They tend to be good at pointing these things out and correcting faults causing problems.
