I am trying to do 2 miles in 17 minutes. I have trained on the tread mill for a bit and recently have been running on the street.
On the tread mill I got to the point where I did two one mile intervals at 8MPH with a half mile walk for rest. For distance I was doing 3-3.5 miles at 6MPH non-stop.
On the street I've been running about 1.6-1.7 miles non-stop and then my body basically gives up. The street running is about at the time I need to me, but obviously around the 1.6 mile mark I have to start walking. Of course once I catch my breath I can usually resume my run for a few more minutes.
Any ideas/suggestions/clues as to how to help me get over this hump?
Yes, slow down and build a better base. You seem to be working on a 5k. Look at some programs out there and take it easy. Enjoy the run. I would aim for 3miles at 9 or 10 minute pace. That is challenging and a good starting pace. "Trigger Fish" <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...
