  1. Hi all,

I live in the UK and I've just changed my job and now it's
just the right distance to cycle into work each day.

I'm looking for great deals on cycles in the UK. Preferably
with interest free credit. I don't need anything special or
fancy just a good reliable road bike which I can also ride
along some of the cycle paths I use without having to worry.

    Advice would be appreciated.

    Scott.

I'd get something second hand if you can. There's not
*that* much to break on a bike, unlike buying a second hand
car, remember you'll need to buy a fair bit of paraphenalia
like cycling clothes and lights, locks, tools and spares in
case of a puncture as well as just the bike. Two or three
hundred should get you something pretty capable for getting
    to work and back.

Why are you posting in alt.mountain-bike then? I'd say
uk.rec.cycling is a better idea (though I've not checked if
    you've posted there or not).
