anybody want to buy one ?

im not here to make money. i just want to re-coup what i
spent and thought some of you peeps here might be
interested. thats why i'm limiting the offer to these two
groups. at the time of bidding for these they were the only
ones of their kind on ebay so i bought the card full
(couldnt buy just one or two) and i dont see the point in
putting them back on ebay (more like cant be bothered).

    £2 each inc P+P

theyre aluminium and they screw apart with an ID slip inside

This would have quite a different meaning to a Merkin.

Sounds like Fran has the same kind of adaptor I have. I
can't remember the manufacturer but I bought it at PC
World although I would expect it to be dearer from there.
    It's installed via a PCI slot, so you'll need a spare - I
had to remove unrequired dial-up modem card.

Eh? Mine simply plugs into an existing USB port, without
need of any installation or drivers. It then sits - because
that's where it suits me - on top of my tower, waiting to
receive whatever I fancy plugging in to it. I've still got
a spare USB port at the back of the tower; however I never
need to use it, because I've got four, which I never need
all at once, sitting within easy reach. It cost about a
fiver from Lidl; they're available now from places such as
eBuyer for less than that incl. P&P.

Mine - a new one is called "USB 4-Port Hub" how imaginative
? Bought in PC World for about 20 quid AFAICR.

    Works Well!

And a whistle blast travels further than your voice. You
don't get a sore throat from shouting non-stop and you can
keep blowing until you stop breathing (or your ears hurt
more than your broken leg etc!).

Why does everyone think you may have broken a leg - how
about a couple of busted ribs as well :-)....?

    Now try blowing!

Not a certain note, but a set sequence of ' 6 good long
blasts, stop for 1 minute and then repeat, carry on until
people find you as the rescuers may be direction finding
    off your signals ' P 42 MRC Handbook 2002.

Its an internationally recognised signal, so perhaps not
    usless these

Is that where they hang out now? Someone had better tell my
local Labour candidate, I understand his convictions for
gross indecency were in the station toilets at Reading.

Which is useless unless the person who 'rescues' you has the
bright idea of looking inside the whistle for medical
info... which, I have to admit, is not something that would
cross my mind. And, without stating the bleeding obvious,
you'd have to be conscious to tell them the info is in the
whistle, in which case you might as well just tell them the
info! Or am I missing something very obvious (it's late,
I've had far too much alcohol today...)?!?!?

Dunno whether it were me or not, but yes I have a 4-way USB
adaptor. Believe it or not - but you probably will - I
bought it in Lidl... ;-) You should be able to get one
fairly cheaply in places such as PC World - not a bad place
as long as you know exactly what you want, so you don't need
to bother with sales droids, or have a look at
www.ebuyer.com quick find code 56119 for a rather stylish
looking hub that's a lot cheaper than I paid.
