I am involved with a school in the Midlands who takes kids on residential weeks in Snowdonia to enlighten them to the pleasures of walking , climbing and wild camping. Our local camping shop who used to rent out boots for the week has closed down and has got rid of all their hire stock.
This leaves us with a bit of a problem as to where to get boots for the kids on the forthcoming trips at the end of May and June and also for future years trips.
If anyone has any old/unwanted (but wearable) boots, and wishes to donate them we would be pleased to hear from you. The kids we take are 12/13 year olds so their feet tend to range from size 4-8 but all boots are welcome. We are willing to pay post and packing costs for all donations.
Leather boots are preferable as they will last for many school trips to come. I know they will be well used and looked after!

I left my last old pair (still wearable but a bit split) in a car park in Ambleside for a passing tramp to take and patch up. Always support your local tramp population. Kids can wear trainers.

In Dundee the local council runs an outdoor activities centre which rents out kit (including boots) to the locals as well as folk doing their courses. Maybe your local council has something similar? Or alternatively there may be someone near your destination that will rent boots.
