Hi good ppl! i've never posted here before and never thought
i'd have to. The problem? Well recently i was taken inti an
hospital A&E dept (Emergency Room) after taking an OD of a
prescribed drug. Now please dont preach to me bout the
merits of taking an OD, it happens. Anyway, the medics put
me on a heart monitor and did their checks and anounced that
from the readings of their equipment they could tell that my
arteries are clogged up with fat and they used the dreaded
term ''heart disease''.
After dropping this bombshell on me nothing else was said
and i dont know what to do from here on. I have completely
changed my diet and i only eat low-fat foods but i need to
know what (if anything) else there is that i could do to
help myself. Are there any cholestrol lowering meds that
would be of help. Am i right in thinking that there is an
over-the-counter vitamin (niacin) that would help reduce my
cholesterol?. Is the only real cure for my heart disease
bypass surgery?
Any and all advice/info will be welcome.
Thanks
Andy (uk)
