Is there any truth to this, or am I being fed something totally made up? I did a google search for SSRI BUFOTOXIN, however, the only search result was a dead end. Searches for the toxic effects for SSRI drugs made no mention of Bufotoxin. This leads me to believe the bufotoxin story is false, however it never hurts to explore these things further (and no, I am not taking any SSRIs).

Actually, isn't bufotoxin the stuff produced by those "poison dart" frogs? At least, it's something that sounds like that. Doubt it's related to SSRIs, at any rate.

Toads, not frogs. I think it's that stuff on the toads that people were licking to try to get high.

Dart frogs are South American tiny highly coloured frogs. Quite poisonous. Not the psychedelic toads to which you refer.
Yes, I know. I shouldn't have been so terse. The toad in question is Bufo gargarizans and has nothing to do with poison dart frogs. Licking one of *those* would probably be your last act on earth.
