I remember now why I work from home - OK, so I can't take
advantage of the tax breaks on a new bike, but yesterday I
was up with the larks and got my day's work finished by 9am,
leaving me free to enjoy a pleasant day's cycling.
Did a 60 mile round trip to Chatham and back - had been
trying to stick to rural routes, but if you're in northern
Kent and want to get across the Medway, you have to go
right through the middle of the Medway towns conurbation.
Not nice. As it happeend I didn't have time to press on
across the Medway as I had to get home in time to pick up
my son from school - I ended up having to treat the last 15
miles like a time trial... Today, my legs are feeling a
little tender.
Anyway, I did discover the most wonderful bakery in Chatham
High Street where I bought meself a caramel doughnut and a
blueberry muffin, both of which were absolutely divine. So,
if you ever find yourself in Chatham and longing for cake,
go straight to Liddelows In Town Bakery - it almost makes up
for being in Chatham.
