I finally got around to using the Sport Trak yesterday taking it out for a reasonably free walk around Long Mynd. This does seem to be an impressive and effective piece of kit. First reactions are:
The quality of the colour screen display is good and - in practice - is easy to use;
The machine is very quick at getting a satellite fix and - from switching on cold - can give you an accurate grid location very quickly.
Waypoint and route following seems pretty straightforward although it's not really a good idea to test something like this in terrain you know very well!
The machine seems to be pretty robust and a decent set of batteries seem to last a reasonably long time!
