  1. Hi! I'm a Clinical Microbiologist with more than 20 years
experience in mainstream medicine. I currently manage a
microbiology laboratory in a mid-sized hospital in the
    Northwestern United States.

Over the years, I have seen plenty of examples of success
stories in modern medicine, and I'm all too familiar with
many of its shortcomings as well. All in all, I am quite
sure that my work has helped imporove the lives, and
sometimes save the lives, of many patients.

I'm not a doctor, so what I have to say should not be
considered medical advice; it's just observations from one
who has been there for a long time. As I see it, as
medicine is practiced in the United States, and in much of
the western world, a lot of effort is put into curing or
repairing health problems AFTER they happen, and very
little attention is given to PREVENTING health problems to
    begin with.

A couple of years ago I was introduced to "Nutritional
Immunology". This science is all about providing our bodies,
mostly our immune systems, with the raw materials it needs
for optimum performance. The idea is truly preventative
maintenance. When you immune system is functioning properly,
you don't get sick as often, and when you do get sick, it's
    not as severe.

Here's a brief overview of NUTRITIONAL IMMUNOLOGY and
E.EXCEL INTERNATIONAL, a company at the forefront of
providing all natural, herbal supplements designed to
provide the body and the immune system the raw materials it
needs to resist disease and stay healthy.

THE IMMUNE SYSTEM IN FOUR SIMPLE STEPS

The immune system encompasses almost every system of the
body. Tonsils, lymph nodes, spleen, bone marrow, intestine
wall and thymus are the organs that control and produce our
immune response. The immune system is a complex network that
regulates our physical and mental well-being.

Step One: Defend When an invader attempts to enter the body,
it must first cross multiple barriers such as our mucus
membranes and skin. If the invader enters the body, white
blood cells quickly recognize the pathogen as an invader and
begin to coordinate the defense system. Soon, other defender
cells, such as killer cells, macrophages and phagocytes come
to help destroy the invader. White blood cells begin to
produce an antibody to defend against any future attacks.
The body produces more than one billion different antibodies
to combat many types of invaders.

Step Two: Attack These invaders are then attacked and
destroyed by natural killer cells. The killer cell binds to
its target, aims its weapons and then delivers a lethal
burst of chemicals that produces holes in the target cell's
membrane. Fluids leak out and the cell bursts.

Step Three: Cleanse Macrophages, the "garbage men" of the
body, have tentacles that grab the destroyed organisms and
engulf them. The function of the macrophage is to ingest any
foreign particles, including aged body cells.

Step Four: Repair Damaged areas are repaired and the normal,
healthy condition of the body is restored. Mast cells
release histamine and heparin which stimulate other cells to
open the blood vessels, thereby increasing circulation and
allowing the process of cell and tissue regeneration.

Without nutritious whole foods, the four-step defense
process can not function properly. While our bodies require
nutrition from a wide variety of food groups, studies have
shown that plant foods-fruits, vegetables, and herbs-nourish
the body in ways that other foods can not. The healing power
of plant foods comes from vital nutrients called
phytochemicals. Phytochemicals, such as antioxidants and
polysaccharides, offer enormous promise in the fight to
    maintain optimal health.

    DR. JAU-FEI CHEN

With over 20 years of medical research behind her, Dr. Jau-
Fei Chen has dedicated her life to the study of the immune
system and its relationship to a healthy diet. Early in her
career, she realized that the most effective way to battle
illness is to focus on prevention through proper nutrition.

DS. Chen knew that there are many plant foods, such as
cactus, mushrooms, grape seeds, ginseng berries, and
soy that contain valuable nutrients, but are not
available to most of the world. In 1987, Dr. Chen
founded E. Excel International with a desire to provide
mankind with better health through improved nutrition.
Today,E. Excel accomplishes this through their superior
products formulated to work synergistically with one
another and designed to strengthen the immune system
and the body as a whole.

Now that you know that proper nutrition is the key to an
efficient immune system, I urge you to take charge of your
health! Begin now to get sufficient rest, regular exercise,
and to include these nutritious plant foods in your diet so
that your body can better fight against those invaders that
compromise your health. E. Excel International is here to
provide the vital nutrients you need to start on the path
toward better health. I invite you to experience the natural
goodness of E. Excel for yourself and see what proper
    nutrition can do for you.

I think the idea of preventative medicine is starting to
gain ground, and will continue to do so as the baby-boom
population ages. A leading proponent of this type of
approach (in the western world) is
    Dr. Andrew Weil.

... well... I think most of the materials we need can be
gotten from the grocery store, but I guess time will tell
with further investigation into vitamins, phytos, and other
compounds, the requirements, the limits, their benefits, and
their harmful properties. This is still so much in it's
infancy, that I think it hard for anyone right now to speak
    to it with authority.
